The graphic novel captures the basic outline of a larger story. It that sense it serves as a great introduction to a historical topic. I really enjoyed the colored pencil illustrations which are less common to this genre. This would be a noteworthy book to pair with Kate Moore's The Radium Girls for a deeper understanding of these people and events. The graphic novel captures the basic outline of a larger story. This is an interesting book that addresses activism as it relates to art making and crafts. The chapters are informative, historical, and easy to follow, making it an enjoyable read. Readers can skip around, from chapter to chapter, rather than read the book from beginning to end. The chapter on the AIDS Memorial Quilt and AIDS crisis alone is worth reading. The book is a great read for young adults and adults who may have an interest in making things that serve a social purpose. This is an interesting book that addresses activism as it relates to art making and crafts.
