Somewhat random and incoherent, the focus of the story (such as it is), is on a special ring worn by (unsurprisingly), Ringo. Like their first film, this is entirely a vehicle for promoting the band, but it seems a bit redundant after the extraordinary success of "Hard Day's Night". Except for the title track "Help!", and "Ticket to Ride", shot randomly at a ski resort, the music featured in this film would normally be relegated to the "B" side. of any Beatles single. I can't understand why they didn't use what is arguably the best Beatles song ever, "Yesterday". Perhaps it wasn't ready at the time of filming, even though it was on the studio album.
