The third book in the Marcus Ryker series, the Jerusalem Assassin was a great read. The plot is relatively simple, a peace conference between the US, Israel and Saudi Arabia is threatened by terrorists and Marcus has to prevent a triple assassination. This continues on from the previous two books (The Kremlin Conspiracy and The Persian Gamble) but without needed to resolve a cliffhanger like the previous book did. It's fast-paced and highly engaging. I'd say that while the previous books make the series better, this could technically be read as a stand alone. Also, the Christian elements are toned down a bit in this book, which while not an issue for me may come as a relief to some readers. The last third of the book (labeled as Part Four) is intense and I couldn't put it down despite this forceing me to keep reading until 11:30 at night. If you like political thrillers, then this may be for you. I'd still recommend the previous installments though to get the most out of the characters.
