Even though 1954's "Suddenly" had a brief running time of only 75 minutes - I'd say that its story could have easily been edited down to about 1 hour.
Yes. There were some worthwhile moments of genuine tension and drama that took place in "Suddenly" - But, for a film whose action was primarily shot within the confines of a single room, the overall attempt to continuously sustain the suspense clearly began to lose its grip at about the half-way point.
And, of course - It didn't help matters much that (once again) actor, Sterling Hayden (this time playing character, Sheriff, Todd Shaw) was the biggest bore imaginable.
