I was so excited to watch this movie because the first Mamma Mia is my all-time favourite movie. One thing I was disappointed about was that I felt Sophie and Sky’s chemistry was off and not as intense as it was in the first film. I also disliked the fact that Meryl Streep was barely in the movie considering Donna was my favourite character. But I did like how in this movie we got to see what Donna’s life was like in the 70s when she meets Sam, Bill and, Harry. The music in this film was amazing and just as good as the first, maybe better. I would highly recommend this film for those of you who are Mamma Mia fans. I wish I could say this film was just as good as the first, but it really wasn’t. I would recommend the film for those 12 and up. 5 stars

In my personal opinion this was great. I recommend to ages 11 and over. I think this second one is better than the first. The casting was perfect. I love ABBA and the Mamma Mia! versions are even better.

I gave this 3.5 stars for purposes of guiding those of you searching for a DVD, believing that's what most people will think of this. However, I, myself, actually felt it was a '4'. I really needed something fun and light-hearted tonight, yet something that had 'heart' (I cried over the mother-daughter relationship, having lost my own mom one year ago). I recently saw 'Mama Mia' live and loved it so it was great to be able to order this sequel to the film and continue the story. The movie was actually really quite good, though I must admit I wasn't expecting alot. It's mostly back-story on some of the main characters and I liked how the present-time was woven with the past. Lily James is really wonderful and I now want to order films she's in. Amanda Seyfried continues to turn in good performances. She's starting to show her real-life 34 years. // Fortunately Cher doesn't appear in the film until near the end. It is truly painful to watch her. It looks like she's encased within a mask. Actually, I guess she sort of is. She even walks with great difficulty, as if she's been re-animated. This took away from an otherwise enjoyable film. // Julie Waters is a real hoot and I enjoyed the repartee between her and Christine Baranski. Their young-life counterparts also had great chemistry.

Definitely not as good as the original. Also, painful to watch Cher try to move her lips after so much plastic surgery; wish she would have chosen to age naturally.

This sequel stunk. What an awful story, acting and dancing. Don't waste your time.

Didn't work for me as well as original - maybe part of my aging, etc. - bailed before the end.

Revisit the Greek islands with your favorite music group: Donna and the Dynamos (who primarily feature ABBA tunes). Sophie prepares to continue her mother's legacy with the Hotel Bella Donna while battling a personal crossroads. It'll take her family and friends to guide her as she starts a new chapter.

Best part was the old songs. I wonder did ABBA write the new songs? Waited many months for this remake. The ABBA songs will stay with me forever. They took the world by storm. Cher's two wigs were ridiculous. She best stay away from a flame.

Prequel and sequel of the 2008 original combined in this musical. Nice back story that explains how Donna became a hotelier and why Sophie's dad is undetermined. High lites are the new generation of actors/singers, catchy tunes and the grand entrance of Cher with her act. Don't miss the full set of individual or playlist of videos in bonus "enhanced sing-alongs."

If you like this musical as much as I do, check out the time-capsule performances in the 2002 DVD "ABBA The Definitive Collection" (1972 to 1983) plus bonus videos and a picture gallery:
