Read this book on a recommendation. Although I thoroughly enjoyed the beginning of the book, toward the end, it seemed the author would stray, suddenly try to "fit" in the history of the main character to where I found myself skipping, at times, several pages of "filler".
Needless to say, the ending left me extremely disappointed and was hard to finish.
