"Abattoir Blues". 4 - 4 1/2 stars. Book #22 in the Inspector Banks series was another winner from Robinson. I love his writing, the story flows beautifully and the characters are well developed. This book starts out with a missing tractor and there are plenty of interesting details along the way to the ending, including an illegal abattoir and a psycho killer with a bolt gun. It was also nice to see Winsome get a bit of a spotlight shining on her. I really enjoyed this book. Banks is one of my favourite characters.

This is the US title for Abbatoir Blues. Beyond me why my library would have to spend money on both titles, as well as waste my time. Anyhow, it's a good story. I just don't feel the need to read it twice.

This is the first Inspector Banks mystery I have read so I have nothing to compare it to like other reviewers. It isn’t necessary to read any of the others to get involved in this book. Great characters, interesting plots and a satisfying end make for good reading.
