I found this somewhat heavy going, lots of repitive material. The first half crows about near zero marginal cost technologies, but fails to address the capital reqirements until well into the second half. In many ways that second half is the most worthwhile part, I was particularly fascinated by the description of the formation and initial success of the TVA.

read 4 pages and had to STOP! How can so much time be wasted on such stupidity. Like, we are NOT going to be making our cars, trains and own jumbo jets with 3 D Printers. This book should be moved to Fairy Tale shelves.

Rifkin says look over there, don't look here - - because here is the predatory capitalist on super-steroids! Rifkin is an idiot. [Once heard him claim during an interview that peak oil was to blame for the global economic meltdown - - evidently Rifkin had never heard of Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley speculating up the prices of oil futures on the InterContinental Exchange [ICE], nor how the banksters speculated up the price of the chemicals used in the refining process, nor how the banksters speculated up the costs of transport but manipulating Future Freight Forwards, et cetera?]
