This was an instant hit with a 3 year old girl. We read/played/explored it for hours.

A woodpecker dad teaches his son to peck. And peck and peck! And peck! Did I mention all the pecking? There's a lot of it. And every time he pecks, it makes a hole in the page. Irresistable. Especially for fans of Maisy books, also created by this illustrator, Lucy Cousins, in the same naively enchanting style.

Wonderful book about a baby bird and how dad tells him to go off and seek adventure. He has a wonderful time and then returns home to his dad for his goodnight kiss.

Great one for Father's Day or Family Day!

Follow this little woodpecker around on a very busy day of pecking. Don't worry the book was not vandalized.

Super fun book! Kids at storytime loved that the book was full of holes - and that they could "peck" along with the little bird. A great read-aloud!
