Interesting but not great!

Possibly the best documentary on the crisis of bee colony collapse disorder. We learned a lot about bees and their natural behavior, as well as likely causes of CCD. Well done!

Like others have said, this documentary is more spiritual than scientific, and I shut it off about half-way through. If you want to see beekeepers looking ecstatic and see lots of close-ups of honeybees, it's good. If you're looking to learn something new about them, then you'll need to watch something else.

An informed and frightening documentary - not exactly what I was expecting from the dancing lady on the DVD cover.

I agree with the comment that this is far too spiritual & full of "woo" for such an important scientific subject. There is some good information in this video, especially when they talk to beekeepers & farmers, but at least half is useless...Especially the anti-GMO part featuring the same guy behind all this Food Scare crap i see lately. GMOs are NOT the cause of bee problems. There are much better videos on the topic out there, but this is worth a watch with a critical mind.

I agree with 'ReidCooper, (see below). There is too much 'mystical magical' reverence,.. all at the expence of real information, current science, and possible solutions. I highly recommend the documentary "Vanishing of the Bees",.. as a much more worthwhile consideration of this vital crisis.

I was hoping this documentary would have far more hard science. It was interesting, and work for what it was trying to be, but it took a rhetorical position that assumed the viewer already bought into the director's worldview - starting right with the confusing title, "Queen of the Sun" and DVD cover (why focus on a piece of performance art with bees instead of focusing just on bees themselves?). All that said, it does make some important points about the lack of sustainability in the agro-industry's current approach to using bees for plant pollination.

Gorgeous photography and an interesting look into the status of honeybees from different perspectives.
