Many good aspects to this overly long book. Perry's excellent characterizations show us Monk and Hester adjusting to marriage, and Rathbone adjusting to having to watch their happiness. The mystery seems unsolvable, with a fiance suddenly running away, then refusing to explain why, or how or why the coachman ended up murdered. A side plot ends up putting two women in the dock, with an ending that I thought I'd guessed, but was still quite a surprise.

The author is on her "A-game" in this one! I did guess the outcome, but still kept reading because I couldn't believe it. A real page-turner.

A very very good mystery You won't know who did it. Anne Perry is a wonderful writer that she holds the readers' attention until the last.
