Frank Herbert's Final Novel in the Magnificent Dune Chronicles--the Bestselling Science Fiction Adventure of All Time

The desert planet Arrakis, called Dune, has been destroyed. The remnants of the Old Empire have been consumed by the violent matriarchal cult known as the Honored Matres. Only one faction remains a viable threat to their total conquest--the Bene Gesserit, heirs to Dune's power.

Under the leadership of Mother Superior Darwi Odrade, the Bene Gesserit have colonized a green world on the planet Chapterhouse and are turning it into a desert, mile by scorched mile. And once they've mastered breeding sandworms, the Sisterhood will control the production of the greatest commodity in the known galaxy--the spice melange. But their true weapon remains a man who has lived countless lifetimes--a man who served under the God Emperor Paul Muad'Dib....

These books are very interesting, and I particularly appreciated that this one focused on primarily female characters (even if it was a bit icky that the main power of the villainous women was addicting men to amazing sex; well, that, and crazy ninja powers that let them kill people with their bare hands).

I'm curious whether the next book will jump ahead another few thousand years or if we'll actually get to find out "what happens next".

I probably need to read something shorter before I start the next book in the series though. Assuming there is one. :-)

A good end to the Dune series. 6th in the series before the authour died. Worth reading if you loved the other 5 books. Last half of Chapterhouse: Dune is worth reading the first half to get to the good parts at the end of the book.

This is a lot more involved than the first few "Dune" books, and it's a bit difficult to keep track of what's going on. That said, it's definitely a worthy addition to the series.

"Chapterhouse" is particularly good if you're interested in the Bene Gesserit. A lot of unanswered questions get resolved in this book.

The unthinkable - Arakis is destroyed ...
All comes to an end in this page turner.
Good satisfying ending.
