The title sounded interesting but it's more than that. It's a true story, and an amazing one! I recommend it highly!

The previews are a lot better and although the idea of this movie is good, the film itself is not. I hated the way it just seemed to skip over 'scenes' and even though it was easy to figure out what was going on, I think that the missing…

JCLHeatherM – Jul 19, 2018 says it all very nicely. This movie is a little slow but it does depict how persons suffering from polio were isolated and locked away by doctors without any hope to enjoy even the simplest pleasures of life. It…

The guy who played Gollum makes his directorial debut directing the guy who played The Amazing Spider-Man and the gal who played The Girl in the Spider's Web in a movie that has nothing to do with any of that stuff. This is a wonderful…

Much more than a five star rating. The movie is based on a true story and produced by the son of the protagonist Robin Cavendish. A story that proves that sometimes genius is found when adversity hits and that genius can be used to…

I thought this movie was brilliant. The couple's son, Jonathan Cavendish, produced this movie as a tribute to his parents. It was both moving and inspiring....the casting was great.

Phenomenal movie. Perfect. This could have been a manipulative tear-jerker, but it's not. Brilliant script, incredible acting, scene after scene of the highest quality. Don't miss this fantastic movie. I can't believe it wasn't nominated…

★★⅔ An inspiring bio-drama about a 1960's post-polio tetraplegic man who lived life to the fullest under the dedicated care of his family through marriage and their resourceful friends. However, the anchor love story of the aristocratic…

Fantastic movie! As one who tries to respect the feeling of others, there is a mean comment from a KCLS patron on this page. (look below) I forgive this person. Possibly this patron was having a bad day. Patron comments should be…

A beautiful and emotional film that poses many important questions regarding disabilities. If you liked the movie, "The Theory of Everything," then you may also enjoy this one as well.

Very touching movie with persevering true love and acceptance until the end. It also raises the ethical issue of assistance in dying , true care and understanding and also how we choose to say good-bye to the one we loved the most.…

Directed by Andy Serkis in 2017, this docudrama delves into the life of Robin Cavendish who became paralyzed from the neck down by polio at age 28. It is a heartwarming story about love and human possibilty. Superb are the performances…

This was a very touching and heartfelt tribute to his parents, as well as to all immobile patients that were "jailed" inside (and largely kept silent) hospitals, no matter how advanced or clean. Robin Cavendish (played brilliantly by…

This calls into question what a movie is all about. I can see someone wanting to make a tribute to their father. I can't see it in the form of a movie. This one is poorly acted, boring, and of little interest to anybody not involved…

Marvellous movie. This is a love story; a story of living with polio in the 1950's to the 1970's; overcoming obstacles; celebrating life to its fullest despite being a quadruplegic. It is based on the lives of Robin and Dianne Cavendish.…
